Puppy Contract
Sale includes: AKC papers: limited registration $800 (no breeding rights) or full registration $1,000 (breeding rights), contract, and up-to-date shots and worming
The purpose of this document is to define the requirements and conditions to purchase a Labrador retriever puppy from Reid’s Charcoal and Silver Labs. Signature of this agreement in no way prevents either party to mutually cancel the sale or purchase of the puppy. For the six month heath guarantee we require that you take your puppy to a licensed veterinarian within 72 hours of receiving your puppy to insure the good health of your puppy to everyone’s satisfaction or contract is void. There must be documented proof with date of service from the licensed vet. If a problem is found, a second opinion from our vet to confirm the problem will be procured. After conformation of the problem, the puppy will be replaced. If there are no puppies available, one will be provided from the next litter whelped or a refund may be reimbursed. We require that you follow the recommended schedule of puppy vaccinations from a licensed vet along with worming treatments for the first six months. (see health log) It is recommended that you keep your puppy away from playing or socializing with other dogs, and areas frequented by other dogs until the puppy had completed its vaccinations around 16 weeks. Your puppy should be fed a quality puppy food to insure health and growth. The health guarantee is void if veterinary care is not provided in the first six months.
If for any reason buyer is not able to keep this puppy, we must be informed before the puppy is resold or given away. We reserve the right of first option to buy the puppy if ever sold/given away. The original purchase price of the puppy is nonrefundable. The buyer also agrees that the puppy will never be sold to a pet store, broker, puppy mill, or a surrender shelter. We love our puppies and want to be notified immediately if you can no longer care for them.
Should your puppy develop genetic hip dysplasia within the first year, Reid’s Charcoal and Silver Labs will provide a replacement puppy. We do not guarantee against hip dysplasia associated with non-genetic causes. To qualify for this you must have kept the puppy under the care of a licensed veterinarian and show proof of care and diagnosis. In the event of life altering hip dysplasia, the buyer must contact seller prior to any surgery or correction done. The buyer must provide the seller with proof of the specific genetic disorder which has occurred with an OFA (Orthopedic Foundation for Animals) certification for hip dysplasia. Contract is void in care of injury to puppy concerning hips or legs. If there is proof or appearance due to breeding, this contract is void and the full breeder price of the puppy will be required at that time.
Purchaser must agree to exercise normal care in maintaining their puppy’s physical exam by a licensed vet, annual vaccinations against DHLPP, annual fecal exams, continual heart worm prevention, and rabies vaccinations. Reid’s Charcoal and Silver Labs does not pay veterinary bills. This health guarantee is void if the dog is overweight or malnourished.
All payments related to the purchase of the puppy must be received prior to receiving the puppy. Payment will be agreed by both parties and will be expected to be met in full before registration papers will be released. There will be no refunds on any purchases or deposits. Your puppy must be picked up within 6-8 weeks after birth unless other arrangements have been made.
I have read the details of this contract and fully understand what I have read. I agree to abide to the conditions of this contract and if I do not comply with said contract, I understand that the contract becomes void immediately.
